For over two decades, NewHeavenNewEarth, or NHNE, has been attempting to answer humankind’s oldest, most perplexing questions: Who are we? Why are we here? What is the origin and purpose of life?

We have also been passionately interested in helping give birth to a new way of life on planet Earth.

Attempting to unravel the fundamental mysteries of human existence is no small task. Ditto for giving birth to a new way of life on our planet. But several years ago, lightning struck. I realized that a spontaneous, grassroots, global phenomenon was not only answering life’s big questions, but that this phenomenon was also beginning to take root, spread, and produce dramatic personal and collective transformations.

The global phenomenon I am referring to is TENS OF MILLIONS of people, from all races, religions, and cultures, dying and then returning to life with fantastic stories about what they experienced while clinically dead. In 1975, Dr. Raymond Moody wrote a groundbreaking book on this subject called “Life After Life.” In that book, Dr. Moody coined a term for these experiences: “near-death experiences” or “NDEs”. Moody’s research, which was conducted before the advent of the internet, was based on 100 cases. Now, over 40 years later, we have first-hand reports — audio, video, and written — from many thousands of people. The largest database of written accounts, which is being collected in 23 languages from all over the world, is run by The Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF), which is operated by Jody Long and Jeffrey Long, MD. In 2010, Dr. Long published his first book, “Evidence of the Afterlife.” Based on the NDEs of 1,300 people, Dr. Long summarized his key discoveries in two lists: “The Twelve Elements of NDEs” and “The Nine Lines of Evidence” (you can find a summary of Dr. Long’s book posted here and a pdf of his two lists here).

While many fascinating discoveries emerge from studying these stories, here’s one that is particularly important. In his best-selling book, Dr. Long writes:

“For me personally, I’m showing more love to others now than before I started my near-death-experience studies. My understanding of near-death experiences has made me a better doctor. I face life with more courage and confidence. I believe NDErs really do bring back a piece of the afterlife. When NDErs share their remarkable experiences, I believe a piece of the afterlife, in some mysterious way, becomes available to us all.”

NDE author and researcher, Dr. Kenneth Ring, echoes Dr. Long’s sentiment in his classic book, Lessons from the Light:

“Merely learning about the near-death experience has effects similar to those reported by NDErs.”

When we consider the remarkable transformations that people go through who have NDEs, which often includes miraculous healings of all kinds, the idea that other people can be transformed by hearing these stories is something to seriously ponder.

But I wanted to do more than ponder these ideas. I wanted to find effective ways to share, fine tune, and embody them.

How can you and I experience the same kind of miracles that so many NDErs report? How can we live more consciously? Be more aware of and guided by Spirit? Be more cognizant of the impact our thoughts and actions have on ourselves and others? Realize all life is connected, interrelated, interdependent, one? Discover our unique role in life, and begin to fulfill it? Live every moment of our earthly lives infused with the same love, light, wisdom, oneness and healing power that transforms those who encounter it on the other side?

Once I realized that near-death experiences were happening all over the world, I also discovered that they were happening with increasing frequency. The experiences themselves were also becoming deeper, more powerful, and exerting more influence on the individuals, communities, and cultures that they appeared in. This inspired me to begin trying to identify the core truths presented by NDEs and wrestle them into a comprehensive path that could be used to transform lives.

I began by creating numerous websites and social networks to explore and monitor this paradigm-shifting phenomenon. This allowed hundreds of NDErs — and non-NDErs — to find one another and share stories, compare notes, and discuss challenging and controversial issues. NHNE eventually created the largest self-contained NDE network in the world. Along with offering forums and blogs for members, the network included over two thousand first-person video testimonies and hundreds of members who reported having NDEs (and other spiritually transformative experiences).

What eventually emerged from this work was “The Formula for Creating Heaven in Earth” or “The Formula.” I first introduced The Formula in two talks I gave in Sedona in 2012. These two talks were later turned into a two-part YouTube video called “How Near-Death Experiences Are Changing The World” (see below). The talks and video were followed by a year and a half of weekly NDE classes in Sedona which helped give birth to The Formula in the form of a chart with twelve descriptive circles. Version 1.0 of The Formula has since evolved to Version 3.0, and more versions are on the way. As more people from around the world share their experiences, The Formula is constantly adjusting to include new insights.

To cut to the chase, near-death experiences are emerging as humankind’s first truly universal spiritual path:

“Unlike spiritual paths that arose from the ideas and inner experiences of lone, isolated human beings, the path presented by near-death experiences is emerging as a direct, grassroots revelation that millions of people from all over the world are receiving and sharing. If we explore this newly emerging path deeply enough, we discover that all religions, philosophies, and cultures are honored; that science and spirituality are celebrated; that both the human and spiritual side of our natures are cherished and embraced. In short, near-death experiences present us with a universal, all-inclusive, perfectly integrated spiritual path that revolves around three core truths: 1. We are all one 2. Love is the essence of life 3. We are here, in this world, to become perfect embodiments of the Divine.”
